Delicious smoothies - Perfect start for your morning

Nice to see you again!

So I was thinking to share a couple of my favorite smoothie recipes. I have been eating smoothies for several years but for a long time I just threw in basically anything we had. I didn't plan to do anything special. But in the last couple of years, I have had couple really easy and delicious recipes to kick start my mornings.

So my newest favorite is a bit heavier chia-smoothie that keeps your hunger away for good 4-5 hours. If you love chia and berries this is your perfect start for the morning!

Ingredients: (1 portion)

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 1/2 dl of frozen berries
  • 1 table spoon of chia
  • 1 dl of oatmeal
  • 1 teaspoon of Ceylon cinnamon
  • 1/2 - 1 dl of any liquid (milk, juice, water, almond milk...)

So, first of all, take the frozen banana to room temperature around 15 minutes before you start cooking. Put sliced banana with melted frozen berries (40 sec in microwave) to blender. Mix well and add oatmeal, chia, cinnamon, and milk or other liquid. Be careful with adding liquid so that you will get a smoothie, not a soup.  Mix well and enjoy ASAP since otherwise, the chia will start to make it more like pudding.

Next recipe is perfect if you like ginger, sour and wish a real kick start to your morning. It's also good for your body and helps your immune system to get stronger.

Ingredients: ( 2 small portions)

  • 1 1/2 dl of frozen cranberry
  • 1 pink grapefruit
  • ~5 cm of ginger *
* Ginger is a strong flavor and not everyone likes it. So if you are not sure do you like it or not put less of it. You can also use ginger powder.

Start with melting the cranberries in the microwave for about 30 seconds. Squeeze the juice out from the pink grapefruit and add to blender. Slice ginger into small cubes and add to blender with cranberries. Mix well for 2 minutes and serve!

Enjoy!
