Doughnuts in oven - So easy and delicious!

Hello guys!

It's been so long since my last post but I have been super busy with my school. However I am back with super delicious doughnut recipe which you can make in the oven! It doesn't only save your time but also makes them less fatty since you don't need to boil them in oil. There is couple different frosting recipes below. So here is my recipe:

Ingredients: (~10 big ones or 20 small ones)

  • 2,5 dl of flour
  • 1 dl of brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 0,5 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of cardamom*
  • 1 dl of milk
  • 1 egg
  • 0,5 dl of oil
  • Spray for the mold or oil
*Cardamom is optional and you can find it from any supermarket in Scandinavia and outside Scandinavia it's found in Scandinavian stores.

Start by mixing all dry ingredients in a big bowl. Take a smaller bowl and mix oil, egg and milk. Then pour the oil-milk-egg-mix to the bigger bowl and mix fast and well. Mix until the texture is silky.

Heat the oven up to 200°C. Then either spray the doughnut mold with the mold spray or spread some oil around it so that the doughnuts will not stick to it while they are in the oven. Put the mixture in to the piping bag and squeeze into the molds.

Bake in the oven 8-10 minutes until golden brown. Let them rest couple of minutes in the molds before moving and they must be totally cool before frosting.

So next the frosting. Of course you don't need to do anything on these or the easiest way is to just dip them to the melted chocolate but however if you want something more here is couple of recipes for frosting.

Easy powder sugar frosting (in the pics):
  • 2 dl of powder sugar
  • 0,5 dl of water or strong juice if you want some flavor to it
  • Food coloring
  • Sprinkles (optional)
Salted caramel icing:
  • 2 dl of brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoon of water
  • 2 dl of cream
  • 1,5 tablespoons of butter
  • pinch of salt
  • Sprinkles (optional)
So for the first frosting just mix all ingredients except the sprinkles together. Then dip the doughnuts in. Spread sprinkles on top if you like and let them dry.

If you do the salted caramel icing start by adding water and brown sugar to the small kettle. Boil until water is totally melted. Pour the cream in and mix all the time. Mix until you start to feel that the mixture is getting thicker it should happen in 15-20 minutes. Then add butter and salt. Dip the doughnuts in while the caramel is still warm and spread sprinkles if you like.

Enjoy!
